An attempt locally is needed to assist the National Wildlife Federation in their efforts to save suffering wildlife trapped by the Gulf oil spill. A member of the Eastern Ohio Art Guild, wildlife artist and outdoor enthusiast, Michael Shepard, brought this issue to the attention of local artists because he felt it was necessary to help the wildlife through our art. Therefore, the idea of a fundraiser through means of a silent auction was born. The idea was well received and welcomed by local artists who then formed a committee to begin this process.
“ARTISTS FOR GULF WILDLIFE” is a way artists, outdoor enthusiasts and everyone can help the National Wildlife Federation with their efforts to assist in saving and restoring that which has been so devastated by one of the worst catastrophes in gulf history. Wildlife cannot fight this terrible disaster alone. All species need help from all of us and all that we can do. It is our shared responsibility to see that no less than the greatest effort be made to restore and preserve our wildlife habitat and allow all species to thrive with an un-threatened future.
Artwork will be displayed at various local businesses which will later be announced. Bids will be made at artwork location.
The silent auction will run from September 1, 2010 – September 29, 2010.
Also, a closing reception will follow, details to be announced as soon as possible. Please keep checking back.
